Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) The Institution of Engineering and Technology was formed from the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE) and the Institution of Incorporated Engineers (IIE) and now has more than 150,000 members worldwide. It is the largest professional engineering society in Europe and the second largest of its type in the world. It has offices in London, Beijing and Hong Kong, with an office in Bangalore opening in late 2006.

Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) The IMechE is the United Kingdom's qualifying body for mechanical engineers and has been the home of Mechanical Engineers for over 150 years. Around 75,000 engineers world-wide are members.

Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership (LowCVP) The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership is an action and advisory group, established in January 2003 to take the lead in accelerating the shift to clean low carbon vehicles and fuels in the UK. LowCVP is a partnership of organisations from the automotive and fuel industries, Government, academia, environmental NGOs and other stakeholders who are working together on shared goals to make the shift happen.

Foresight Vehicle
Foresight Vehicle, now administered by SMMT, is the UK's prime knowledge transfer network for the automotive industry. This R&D programme aims to promote technology and stimulate suppliers to develop market driven enabling technologies for future motor vehicles (cars, taxis, HGV's, buses and light commercial vans).

CENEX
Cenex is the Centre of Excellence for low carbon and fuel cell technologies. The aim of Cenex is to support UK industry in the global shift to a lower carbon economy. Further details can also be found in the following brochure
